...in the beginning, a revolution and a revelation appeared when woman and man walked upon the Earth. These early humans were not yet aware of their own humanity or immortality because while they had seen other humans, they had never looked at their own image.

Then one day, kneeling beside a pool of water, preparing to drink, a human noticed through its eyes, another human face beneath the water. The water- face looked into the face of the human. When the human opened its mouth, the water-face opened its mouth. When the human moved closer, the water-face moved closer.

And the human had a revelation. A revelation which set humans apart from all other life forms that ever existed on Earth. The human experienced awareness of self. It understood for the first time that no other human was quite like it. The human saw in the clarity of the water a reflected vision of who it was and how the word perceived it.

As the human stared into the water, it had a second revelation: That the outside world might not perceive the human as the human perceived itself. This realization, this primal experience in individuality, was the beginning of fashion. For with the human's realization that it had a face to present to the world came the realization that it could change the world's perception and behavior by altering its own face.

This fundamental realization unleashed an excitement over the possibilities of human potential. That excitement continues today. And the focus remains the face. It is the fashion of the face that we present to the world, with the fashion of clothing and body always secondary. Over the millenia, people have painted, altered and even masked their faces in an attempt to have the world perceive them as young or beautiful or powerful or wise. This is not vanity, it is humanity. It is communication at its most human level.

If the face is the focus of the self, the eyes are the focus of the face, the mirror to the soul. Communication without eye contact makes everyone uncomfortable.

The NATURE'S MIST^® Founder sees great symbolism in the notion that awareness of our own humanity and soul began with the vision of our face upon the face of the water. For just as the face is our window the to world, natural water is the window to all life on Earth. It is precious natural water that enables living organisms to gather from their surroundings.
